Job Title: GIS Intern – Spatial Analysis & Mapping

About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled GIS Intern to manage, analyze, and visualize geospatial data. In this role, you will move beyond raw data collection and focus on GIS application, spatial analysis, and database management. You will work on deriving intelligence from spatial data, managing geodatabases, and supporting the development of GIS-based web applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Data Management: Create, organize, and maintain Geospatial databases
• Digitization & Vectorization: Perform precise digitization of raster data to create vector layers (Shapefiles/GeoJSON) for land records and urban planning projects.
• Spatial Analysis: Conduct spatial operations (Buffer, Overlay, Network Analysis) to derive insights for client reports.
• Map Production: Design high-quality thematic maps and layouts using QGIS or ArcGIS for presentations and technical reports.
• Web GIS Support: Assist in publishing map services and working with Web GIS technologies.
Requirements:
• Educational Background: Student or Graduate in Geoinformatics, Geography, Computer Science, or Civil Engineering.
• Core Software: Proficiency in QGIS or ArcGIS Pro/Desktop is mandatory.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Coordinate Systems, Projections, and Topology rules.
• Scripting: Basic knowledge of Python for GIS (GeoPandas/ArcPy) is a plus.
• Web GIS: Interest or experience in web mapping frameworks (Mapbox, Leaflet) is an advantage.
